Hello, the Twenties!

Can’t believe it’s our 10th edition in 2020! It’s been an amazing, roller-coaster ride this decade and
we’ve loved seeing how much the ESFF has grown up!

To celebrate, we’ve got some fantastic plans for 2020 including more screenings, some new (and old) partners,
we’ve got loads of overseas film festival showcases planned, some special events and lots more
films and archive footage that we’re looking forward to screening!

That’s a wrap for 2019!

Our 2019 edition wrapped last night at the ECA with our Scottish Animation programme and we’ve been delighted and
thrilled by the response to our programme!

Our most ambitious yet events started on Thursday 24th October at Cinetopia’s Networking event at Brewdog and ended at the ECA on the 10th November and after 10 months of hard work, it remains to give thanks to everyone who contributed to making 2019 such a successful year for the ESFF!

Adriatic Film Festival 2019

The Adriatic Film Festival runs every September in the coastal city of Pescara in Italy and completed its 2nd edition on Sunday 22 September 2019.

ESFF 2019 PROGRAMME JUST OUT!

We’re thrilled to have completed the programme for the 9th edition of the Edinburgh Short Film Festival!

Opening night is at the Filmhouse on Thursday October 24th with a programme of shorts, including the 2019 Cannes Best Short Winner, BAFTA Scotland winner and best animation at Fantoche Int. Animation Festival!

ESFF Screens at Adriatic Film Festival 2019

We’re very excited about our screening at the 2019 Adriatic Film Festival which runs 19-22 September .

We’ve put together an exciting programme of UK short film, including taut thriller Cry Baby Blue by Marlek al-Habib and Sophia Carr-Gomm’s excellent Highlands-set drama The Wider Sun. There’s a screening for talented animator, Gabriel Bohmer and his American Gothic 2D animation,The Flood is Coming.
