The Sonata for Solo Cello is an unaccompanied cello sonata written by György Ligeti between 1948 and 1953 and in LigetiLines by Edinburgh-based musicians and artists  the sonata is explored through fresh watercolour, composition, and choreography and then dissected on film.

The haunting and evocative cello accompanies some abstract watercolour composition and is choreographed, while the combination explored in a filmed discussuion. This is a unique arts project that crosses disciplines and defies conventional pigeon-holing, so we are pleased to bring this work to the attention of film-makers everywhere!
