ESFF features in new edition of Diari di Cineclub

Our good friends at Diari di Cineclub have published a new edition of their (Italian Language) Film culture periodical, it also holds a lovely article about the ESFF!

ESFF 2020 at Summerhall

We were very pleased to able to present the postponed 2020 ESFF at Summerhall this weekend!

Although audience numbers were much smaller than normal, the programme was as strong as any previous edition, with Palme D’Or nominees, Sundance winners, BAFTA winners and a whole roster of some of the best films of last year!

ESFF Announces new partnership with Unified Filmmakers

We’re excited to announce a new partnership with Unified Filmmakers based in Munich, programmers for FilmFest Munchen, we’re working together on film events and short film programming for the coming year!

Unified Filmmakers open call is searching for the best shorts made about the Covid-19 pandemic and also will be hosting regular film talks and film events during  2021.

ESFF CALLS FOR ENTRIES OPEN FOR 2021 EDITION

Our 2021 edition is scheduled for November 2021 and we’ve just opened our call for entries!

Our 10th anniversary special events are also slated for the November events and we’re planning to hold extra screenings as
part of the 2021 festival.

The 2020 edition was postponed and our aim is to hold the delayed 2020 events as soon as the venues reopen in Edinburgh,
hopefully in the first half of this year.

2020 ESFF Filmmaker Interviews #5 Zeynep Kececiler

We continue our series of filmmaker interviews with the courageous documentary maker, Zeynep Kececiler. Zeynep is a Turkey-based award winning documentary-maker whose Somalia shot documentary, Miro’s Journey was screened at the 2019 Edinburgh Short Film Festival.

We were honoured that Zeynep visited to share her thoughts last year and to discuss her engrossing and provoking documentaries with us.
