2016 Script Pitch Winners Announced!
We held the finale of our young screenwriters script pitch competition on Sunday and we welcomed the six young writers that made it through to the final pitching session:
Daniel Brown, Euan Brockie, Andrew Jameson, Grant Reid, Michael Paget, James Hannan
Who took their carefully crafted pitches to our industry judges:
James Mavor (Screen Academy Scotland)
Claudia Yusuf (Scottish Film Talent Network)
Lee Hamilton (Shore Scripts)
Eddie McFadden (Scottish Screenwriters)
Matthew Martino (Matthew Martino Benevolent Fund)
For a gruelling and nerve-wracking pitching session:
And after much deliberation the winner was selected:
Daniel Brown for C.O.D.A !
Congratulations to Daniel who will be off to London next year for the London Screenwriters Festival and for some industry mentoring! We wish Daniel all the best!
The runner-up who will also be going to the London Screenwriters Festival next year is James Hannan!
Because the scripts were so good and difficult to seperate, the judges wanted to make a Special Mention award, which went to Michael Paget!
Congratulations to all the writers, all of whom wrote some oustanding scripts and we hope we’ve helped a couple of young writers get a leg up! Good luck guys and take a bow everybody involved!
