The Edinburgh Short Film Festival: Edinburgh’s accessible, friendly and eclectic short film festival, is now in its 7th year!

We’ve an exciting programme lined up for 2017, featuring 32 UK premieres, 28 award-winning short films as well as no less than 20 Scottish-made films, a total of 78 short films from 25 different countries ranging from Chinese drama and German Horror to Greek Sci-Fi, arthouse cinema from the USA and animation from South Korea.

ESFF screens again at Tokyo’s Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia

Feedback so far is pretty positive and we have 2 more screenings at Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia coming right up!
First off we’re screening at the amazing Itscom tower near the waterfront in central Tokyo on Thursday June 15th and again on
Friday 16th June at the Brillia Short Shorts Theater in Yokohama!

Edinburgh Short’s very own Alice Shone hits the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2017 Launch!

We were excited that our event & photography co-ordinator, Alice Shone was able to represent us at the launch of the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2017, the Far East’s biggest dedicated short film event!  Not only did lucky Alice get to swank it up at the launch event but she also met the festival director, Seigo Tono, and take in some rather fancy Japanese hospitality!

Edinburgh Shorts at Hidden Door 2017

We’re back at Hidden Door for the 2017 events and this year’s abandoned building of choice is the Leith Theatre!

Our first night there was on Saturday 27th May when we and we also held a night of black comedy on Tuesday night. As usual, the Hidden Door team have undertaken a huge and awe-inspiring job of work on the building which was last occupied in 1989.
