Open Screen provides a space for filmmakers and animators to screen their work; old, new or even just works in progress
and get feedback, advice and suggestions from other filmmakers/animators.

The first edition of Open Screen is dedicated to Animation.

The space is for experienced and new animators, beginners or groups and co-operatives.

ESFF Joins the 6th Shortcutz Amsterdam International Audience Award

The Edinburgh Short Film Festival is excited to be participating in the 2023 Shortcutz Amsterdam International Audience Award.

The films in competition are nominated by a panel that includes Jan Harlan, the best Dutch short films of

We had a wonderful 2022 edition and it was great to see the cinema spaces so busy again!

ESFF at Taiwan Film Festival Edinburgh

We’ve co-curated a shorts programme for the Taiwan Film Festival Edinburgh which screens at Summerhall on Sat 15th October,
with short films from across Asia, including thriller, comedy, drama and some wonderful stop motion!

Filmhouse Closure

We’re all deeply shocked and saddened to hear about the sudden closure of the Filmhouse.
